THINGS GETTING WHEEL FOR ST NICKS

- HANNAH SBEGHEN hannah.sbeghen@news.com.au

SANTA is driving the festive cheer on the Gold Coast this week.

Nine drivers of Surfside buses are donning the hat, white beard and red suit in the name of charity as they go about their daiily routes.

Passengers are encouraged to spread the cheer by snapping a photo of Santa.

Surfside bus lines are donating $2 for every photo on social media with the hashtag #Surfside Santa. The money goes to the Gold Coast Community Fund.

Surfside bus lines general manager Martin Hall said putting Santa in the driver’s seat was a fun and easy way for Gold Coasters to make a difference just by taking a photo.

“This is a fun and simple way for our drivers to spread some cheer in the lead up toChristmas while supporting a fantastic community cause,” Mr Hall said.

“We’ll have multiple drivers dressed as Santa across the network, so have your phones ready to snap a photo and support the cause,” Mr Hall said.

This is the second year Surfside bus drivers have dressed up and posed for selfies with passengers to raise money for the charity.
