Police blue ‘legitimate’

A STUDY was undertaken to analyse the way Queensland Police Service’s uniforms are perceived by the public.

The University of Queensland completed the project which relied on the participation of more than 1000 Queenslanders who had to complete a survey.

The study contained some interesting results with the new dark blue uniform perceived as the most legitimate by the public while light blue shirts worn by officers were seen as the most approachable.

The study concluded that the QPS should be mindful of uniform combinations and how they will be perceived by the public.
