Oxanda snaps up new centre

- QUENTIN TOD

OXANDA Education, which in September sold 19 earlylearning centres to Gold Coast group G8 Education for $27 million, has bought a Robina childcare centre from receivers.

The 60 Investigator Drive centre is one of five on the Gold Coast and one in Brisbane put on the market after a funder moved on owner Preschool Services Australia, associated with Karen Williams.

The properties, five of them freehold, have been run by receivers Robert Hutson, Mark Mentha and Jarrod Villani, of KordaMentha, since July.

The receivers started marketing them in September and the Robina sale is the first one completed.

The price being paid by Oxanda, which was started in 2013 and previously had centres at Southport and Ashmore, has not been disclosed.

Rebecca Gunn, the privately-owned Oxanda’s NSW and Queensland operations manager, said there were plans to transform the childcare service into a world-class early education centre.

She said Oxanda would invest in playground equipment, landscaping, and new indoor learning environments.
