Arrest for wine theft

THREE people have been arrested and charged after allegedly stealing wine from a couple at a campsite at Brunswick Heads.

The couple from the UK were asleep in their camper van when they heard noises outside in their annex area at 1am on Wednesday.

The camper noticed some wine had been stolen from his fridge so he walked through the park and came across three males drinking his wine.

It is alleged the three threatened violence towards the victim with police arriving shortly after to arrest them.

A 19-year-old man from Brunswick Heads has been charged with trespass and affray and was bailed to appear in Mullumbimby Local Court on January 22.

A 15-year-old boy from Ocean Shores was charged with affray and possession of a prohibited drug after he was found with cannabis in his pocket on arrest.

He was bailed to appear in the Mullumbimby Local Court on January 22 along with a 17year-old youth from Suffolk Park.
