Why does local soccer have such late kick offs in winter? As a family man – and many families feel the same – I find it difficult to attend the local games on the Gold Coast due to the late kick offs and colder weather! The end of this season the play offs started earlier and were supported by much larger crowds, I spoke with many of the parents that brought their kids along and all felt the same. If the first team kick off was at 3pm and not 7 or 8pm families and kids would follow the game to a greater extent. I have lived in four countries and find the local soccer kick off is the latest I've ever seen! Basil “welterweight” team will be running anything in Qld. That's naive.
