Striking it very unlucky

-

ADELAIDE Strikers have been left to rue missed chances in the field and a stuttering run chase as they fell to their first loss of the Women’s Big Bash League season.

The SA side failed to capitalise on a promising start with the ball and allowed Melbourne Renegades to post 5/160 from its 20 overs at Glenelg Oval yesterday.

In reply, the Strikers finished 9/151 after a middleorder collapse cancelled out captain Suzie Bates’ eye-catching 63 off 38 balls at the top of the innings.

Kiwi Bates said it was a missed opportunity to extend her side’s unbeaten start to the campaign following Saturday’s thrilling one-run win over the same opposition.
