Aussies lose loving feeling
AUSSIES are no longer getting frisky during the festive season, with new figures showing more babies are now born in March than October.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show a trend over three years and are complemented by numbers from one of Australia’s largest health insurers, Medibank.
Medibank chief medical officer Linda Swan said there was a “MasterChef effect” of Christmas nowadays which meant it was more stressful.
“Christmases are getting a lot busier there are a lot more demands and financial stress,” she said. “There is a link between stress and difficulty conceiving, so this could be impacting the switch.”
