My Justine deserves to have justice
THE father of an Australian woman shot and killed by a US policeman earlier this year is “deeply concerned” the inquiry into Justine Damond’s death may have been mishandled.
John Ruszczyk said relatives met with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and police officers soon after Ms Damond was shot in Minneapolis in July and officials promised to get to the truth.
But Minneapolis’ top prosecutor, Mike Freeman, said last week he did not have enough evidence to charge the police officer who shot Ms Damond.
“We are deeply concerned about the possibility that the initial investigation was not done properly and with the greatest integrity or sense of completeness,” Mr Ruszczyk said.
“We are apprehensive that perhaps the BCA has not fulfilled its promise.”
