Sweden stab death

AN Australian man has been stabbed to death in Sweden.

The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was found in central Gothenburg with stab wounds about 4.30am yesterday local time.

It is understood police found the man near Odins Square by chance after being called to another incident.

“We were not there because of him but a patrol found him,” Swedish police West region spokesman Morten Gunneng said. “He was in a very bad condition, he was basically unconscious.”

The man was rushed to the Sahlgrenska hospital but died a short time later.
