Wager limit in new year

-

RACING Queensland confirmed yesterday that minimum bet limits will apply on Queensland thoroughbred races from January 1.

Wagering operators will be required to bet punters to lose $2000 on metropolitan meetings and $1000 on all others from 9am on race day.

The new laws prohibit wagering operators – unless an exclusion applies – from closing a person’s account, refusing to open an account, placing restrictions on accounts, refusing to lay a relevant fixed-odds bet and laying lesser odds than those publicly displayed.
