12 Sleep for a Cause Award

Who would have thought that sleeping rough in winter could raise so much money? In 2016 the Vinnies CEO Sleep Out raised $515,000 due to the persuasiveness of Colin Wheeler (pictured with Vanessa Winter) and the generosity of business folk across the city. In April this year that money helped to pay for Cornerstone, a homeless prevention centre, in Southport which will assist the 1400 Gold Coasters living on the streets. Apparently beanies and a cardboard ‘mattress’ are the new big thing.
