Refugees on Manus are cowards, not courageous

-

IN REPLY to a correspondent in Your Views, (GCB 28/12) the asylum seekers on Manus Island are illegal refugees and, unless the definition of “illegal” has changed recently, then they were attempting to carry out a criminal act.

Research into the detainees there reveals that some have committed criminal acts against the local people, including sexual assault. They are not courageous as claimed by the correspondent, they are cowards.

The media has shown “staged” interviews, Gecko and other ‘advocates’ coach the refugees on how to act and display their ‘filthy’ living conditions for the greatest impact on the sensibilities of the gullible Australian media viewers.

Those “poor ill-treated” men are only interested in gaining access to our welfare system. It provides a lucrative source of income that they can exploit and remit some back to their families in the Middle East. The Aussie taxpayers therefore help fund the terrorists who carry out atrocious acts in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, the USA and also here. They do not assimilate into our society. They are not our ‘brothers’ – I do not want to call anyone my brother who follows an ideology that treats women as chattels, advocates child sexual abuse and female genital mutilation, and the murder of anyone who does not convert to their beliefs.

Your correspondents should do thorough research into a topic before commenting on it. There are many research tools available to anyone who is willing to spend some time checking a topic.

News Limited media publications have published some excellent articles from top journalists about the Manus Island asylum seekers, Miranda Devine being one of them. A proven research method is to examine as many articles as possible on a topic, including print media, as well as online and public libraries. GRAEME W BREWER, BIGGERA WATERS
