Arrests at Festival

-

THIRTEEN people were arrested at the Falls Festival in Byron Bay after they were allegedly found with illegal drugs in their bags.

Tweed Byron Local Area Command Inspector Bobbie Cullen told the Gold Coast Bulletin the crowd who rung in 2018 at the festival were mostly well-behaved but there had been a number of drug-related incidents on New Year’s Day.

“There’s been 13 drug detections in the last hour (around 4-5pm) ... all tablets,” she said yesterday.

Insp Cullen said the festival-goers had all been issued with notices to appear in court.

More than 20 people were also arrested after trying to jump the fence on New Year’s Eve.
