Bulletin readers were unimpressed by news that Queensland Rail will slash services elsewhere to plug gaps in services to the Gold Coast during the Commonwealth Games.

The fact the LNP bought Indian trains that have been extremely problematic doesn’t help.

What a joke these games are going to be, the highways are at a crawling pace, imagine waiting for a bus or taxi there never on time and people will miss there next event.

Top level management of QLD Rail need to be replaced. They approved

the purchase of substandard trains without proper specifications in the contract so new trains didn’t meet minimum safety standards or standards for wheelchairs etc, they knew what the manning levels needed to be and didn’t hire or train drivers and crews. When they started hiring they applied criteria that even existing drivers couldn’t meet and so experienced drivers were not hired. Now the state will look like a laughing stock to the rest of the world during the

commonwealth games risking damage to our tourism industry.
