Surprises for Paradise
THE Gold Coast Eagles could enter the 2018 rugby season without the iconic face that has long spearheaded the foundation club.
Joe Faalogo is rumoured to have left the Southport-based side after nine years, having joined from Surfers Paradise for the 2009 season of Gold Coast Rugby Union’s premier grade.
Faalogo’s arrival coincided with a stunning run of success for the Eagles, who made every first grade grand final from 2009 to 2015 for a return of five premierships.
They have had a tougher time of it since though, missing finals for the past two seasons.
The club has appointed Jai Johnson as head coach.
