More than just win on line
QUALIFYING points for this year’s standard distance age group world championships will be up for grabs in Round 5 of the Queensland Tri Series at Robina next weekend.
Age group athletes from around Australia will converge on the Gold Coast hoping to edge closer to securing a spot on the national team for the 2018 ITU Triathlon World Championships, set to be held at the Southport Broadwater in September.
It is one of 10 world qualifying events this year for the standard distance, consisting of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run.
The Luke Harrop Memorial Triathlon, to be on February 25 at Southport, will act as a qualifying event for the sprint distance world championships.
It will be the last of 11 qualifying events for the sprint world titles in a selection process that began in October last year.
