Numbers up for ambos

PARAMEDICS are calling for visible house numbers on Gold Coast properties so they can get to patients faster.

Mt Tamborine acting officer-in-charge Doug Armstrong said precious minutes were being wasted if homes were not clearly numbered.

“Please don’t put us in a situation where we’re circling your street knowing a patient is close by and desperately needs us, but we’re unable to get to them to help,” he said.

“Some houses have no number at all, which makes it extremely difficult to locate patients quickly.”

Mr Armstrong also said it was important to remove potential obstructions to an ambulance such as overgrown vegetation and tree branches.
