SHEIK SWOOPS IN FOR SALES

QATAR ruling family member and one of the world’s richest men Sheik Fahad Al-Thani is making a return for the Gold Coast’s Magic Millions sales and racing week. Sheik Faha, who won the 2011 Melbourne Cup with Dunaden — one of his first purchases — last year said he would be looking to buy and felt the Magic Millions sale had gone from strength to strength in terms of the performances in races of the horses on sale. Last year, the Sheik said his Gold Coast visit was driven by wanting to buy yearlings for Qatar Bloodstock, which he runs with his brothers.
