Brahmans bowled
TWO losses in the same day to rivals NSW have cost Queensland a T20 title at the Australian Country Championship.
The Brahmans lost to the Blues in a final-round T20 match but still qualified for the final played on Sunday night in Geraldton, Western Australia.
Boasting five Gold Coast players – captain Jimmy Spargo, Sam and Harry Winton, Sean Fitzsimmons and Chris Hall – Queensland lost to NSW in the Sunday morning T20 match, scoring 102 in reply to 8-151.
NSW repeated the dose later with 3-190 before dismissing the Brahmans for 151.
Queens club star Spargo ended a lean spell with the bat by top-scoring for Queensland with 36 in the decider.
The titles continue today with the start of one-day fixtures when Queensland play South Australia.
