Fish wash up at lake

COUNCIL is investigating what has killed a number of fish in a Gold Coast lake.

At least “half a dozen fish” have washed up on the shoreline of the man made waterways at Emerald Lakes in the past few days.

Yesterday a council spokeswoman said officers were testing both the water and the fish – which appeared to be mullet – in an attempt to determine a cause of death.

She said the results were due tomorrow.
