The RSPCA has revealed how bad the Gold Coast’s animal cruelty problem is. It comes after they seized a staffy that was kicked by its owner in Palm Beach this week.

Kim Lawrie Much harsher penalties for animal abusers and people who abandon their animals would be a great place to start. A slap on the wrist is pointless and an insult.

Danielle Haig-Ragen It is sad to see how bad our beautiful Gold Coast is getting. Ice addicts, domestic violence, child neglect, animal neglect and cruelty, crime and road rage. There seems to be a lot of very angry, aggressive and cruel people around. There needs to

be harsher penalties for those inflicting abuse and cruelty onto other people and animals. Kelly Walker We are all animal abusers ... we eat them right??

Natalie Cooper Animal abusers belong in jail. We need harsher ‘minimum’ penalties that are actually enforced by magistrates. Fee Mason This is what folks need to be outraged over, not shops selling hot cross buns

early. ‘The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated’ – Mahatma Gandhi Karen Palmer Names should be kept on a record like sex offenders and banned from owning animals for life!

Jan Crowley And what can we all do about it? Donate, volunteer and adopt from the RSPCA! Let’s clean up this place! Lorraine Woods Good on rspca
