HELENSVALE have been forced to reshuffle two teams with the loss of two Australian representatives for a huge Premier League Queensland clash tomorrow night.

Brett Wilkie and Kelsey Cottrell will both be heading to New Zealand when Helensvale host defending champions Broadbeach under lights at Club Helensvale.

Wilkie (with Aaron Wilson) and Cottrell (Karen Murphy) have been named as Australia’s pairs combinations for the Commonwealth Games and are contesting the Burnside Pairs in Christchurch during the weekend.

“This could not have come at a worse time,” said Helensvale’s Jackaroos captain Lynsey Clarke.

“We’ve got Broadbeach, then Pine Rivers away on Sunday. It’s a pretty tough weekend draw.

“But we’re pretty strong and we’ve got good depth.”

As a result of the changes, former ACT rep Andrew Howie will take over as skip in Wilkie’s four, which includes Clarke.

The moving of Howie means Mark Thatcher takes his place as third in Nathan Rice’s four.

Rohan Wilson has brought in for Cottrell.

Both Broadbeach been and

Helensvale won their opening two PLQ rounds last weekend and the Bulls will fancy their chances tonight after beating the Hawks in last year’s final, winning by three shots.

With Helensvale away to Pine Rivers on Sunday, Broadbeach’s fourth-round match the same day has been switched to Broadbeach.

The two other Coast clubs, Tweed Heads and South Tweed, also have a weekend double-header.

Tweed Heads are away to Victoria Point (Saturday) and host Hamilton (Sunday) while South Tweed play Hamilton (away) on Saturday then Kawana away on Sunday.
