Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were in town yesterday, enjoying lunch at Burleigh restaurant Rick Shores

THE Glitter Strip had an extra splash of glitz yesterday as Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth frolicked across the city.

The pair were first spotted returning a Range Rover they had been driving since Christmas to a Bruce Lynton dealership in Minnie St, Southport, around midday.

The Party in the USA singer and Hunger Games actor had been spotted around Byron Bay over the festive season.

They had been expected to attend Byron Bay’s New Years Eve Falls Festival, but were deterred by recovering from a “large” NYE and in the following days, wild storms.

While they reportedly didn’t stay long at the luxury car dealership, sources said the couple and their friends were down to earth and polite.

They also noticed a little extra sparkle on The Last Song actor’s fingers, in addition to the ring Cyrus confirmed was an engagement ring last year, sparking rumours the pair may have secretly married.

The group of five departed and made their way to waterfront Burleigh Heads restaurant Rick Shores, where they enjoyed a leisurely long lunch.

Cyrus, draped in a Paul Hogan ‘G’day Mate’ T-shirt, and Hemsworth in a singlet, sat close to the water at a corner table with their backs to the rest of the restaurant while their friends, two female and one male, bordered the remaining sides of the table.

While there were whispers and low-key peeks at the venue, they were not approached by patrons while dining. The group appeared jovial as they left, Cyrus and Hemsworth side by side.
