Boost for beach fix
REEF renewal works at Narrowneck beach will be completed ahead of schedule, next month.
Good weather has allowed the council to sink another 13 giant geotextile sand containers, bringing the total to 83.
Mayor Tom Tate said the large containers weighed close to a tonne and would stand up against the biggest of storms.
The works should be finished at the end of February, but beach replenishment is an ongoing process. The council will soon start work on an artificial reef at Palm Beach.
