Auction for ex-motel

-

A FORMER Palm Beach motel that today is tenanted and is a stone’s throw from the ocean is being sold by its offshore owner.

The two-level building, previously operated as the Surf ‘N’ Sand Motel, sits on a 818sq m site at 1203 Gold Coast Highway.

It is owned by former Elanora resident Anthony Cummins, who has moved offshore.

Jared Hodge, principal of the Ray White GC South real estate network, said the property’s medium-density zoning allowed a range of redevelopment options.

He said the building had 11 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and 11 parking spaces and its use was changed to permanent letting three years ago.

Ten of the bedrooms were let at rates of from $215 to $300 a week, and the potential holding income from the property was $140,000. The property is to be auctioned on January 27.
