Groms delivering goods

-

A STACK of Gold Coast and Tweed young guns have enjoyed success at the Surfer Groms Comp at The Spit.

The finals of the under-14 male and female divisions yesterday both had northern NSW competitors hold off rivals from north of the border.

Suffolk Park’s Touma Cameron won ahead of secondplaced Matt Boyle (Currumbin Waters).

“I’ve been coming to these Surfer Groms comps for years – I remember competing for the first time when I was eight years old and I had a shocker so it’s epic to get a win,” Cameron said.

Cali Barret from Banora Point pipped the likes of Coral Fujino (Palm Beach) and Charlotte Mulley (Miami) in the female final.

Tweed’s Quincy Symonds won both the under-10 and under-12 girls divisions.
