SEALED WITH A KISS Sea World is revamping its seal show for the first time in 15 years

FOR the first time in 15 years, Sea World is revamping its iconic seal show.

Slated to launch at the end of January, the educational show titled Seal Guardians will take guests on a journey to help protect the oceans from plastic pollution.

Village Roadshow Theme Parks CEO, Clark Kirby said the new production had been in the works for more than a year and had a “strong conservation message”.

“We’re still in final rehearsals, some of the seals are forgetting their lines,” he laughed.

“The show will educate people about the impact plastic pollution is having on our oceans and what we can do to prevent further damage.

“Seal Theatre has undergone a complete transformation with a new colourful set which will transport guests to (fictional) Sea Lab One.”

Senior trainer Deane Jones, who has been working with seals for 14 years, said the animals enjoyed the challenge of learning a new show.

“They’re really eager to learn, “he said.

“But they’re all different, sort of like humans.”

The Main Beach theme park, along with other Village Roadshow parks, will phase out single-use plastic bags this year.
