MC and TV presenter Candice Dixon has had to give back a $1.6 million jewellery piece she wore during Magic Millions – but wishes she could keep the security detail.

The 7 Network presenter and Magic Millions race day Fashions on the Field MC stepped out in style at the Gold Coast Turf Club with the pricey ear cuff, created specifically of the event.

Throughout the day, she was constantly watched over by a personal security guard – known only as Jesus – who never let her or her expensively-adorned earlobe leave his sight.

“At the end of the day I had to give the jewels back but I was wondering if I could keep the security guard, he was really looking after me, getting me water, anything I needed,” she said.

“I had a fantastic security guard with me all day.”

At one point in the Magic Millions VIP marquee, “Jesus” politely asked a Bulletin journalist to move slightly to the right as his view corridor to the piece was blocked.

Ms Dixon said it was a huge responsibility and honour to wear the Calleija Milioni piece designed by John Calleija with rare Argyle pink diamonds and a three carat white diamond.

“I didn’t realise just how powerful it would be,” Miss Dixon said, adding it was “a bit funny having so many people wanting to take a photo of your earlobe”.
