Heat seek redemption

-

RETURNING Brisbane Heat fast bowler Josh Lalor knew all too well about the talent of Hobart Hurricanes batsman D’Arcy Short without having to be reminded of it at the Gabba last week.

On the sidelines as he nursed a fractured thumb, Lalor could do nothing but watch as Short smashed 122 not out from 69 balls as the Hurricanes beat the Heat last Wednesday at the Gabba.

The teams meet again at Blundstone Arena in Hobart tonight.

Having played alongside Short in indigenous Australian representative teams, Lalor was not surprised by his former teammate’s unbeaten knock.

“He’s definitely always had the talent,” Lalor said.

Left-arm quick Lalor replaces Jack Prestwidge in the only change to the Heat’s 13-man squad from last week.
