December 9: First of a threepart series published by Fairfax Media, which detailed what it called excessive franchise fees that were crippling franchisees. December 11: RFG share price is hammered on the first day of trading since the publication of the article. The share price drops more than 26 per cent in one session. Its market cap drops $180 million in two days.

December 13: RFG responds to the allegations saying they are inaccurate and don’t reflect the state of the business.
