THE golf nursery that is AnK Golf (Australia and Korea) at Sanctuary Cove has produced another top-notch youngster.

Gay Eon Park yesterday took out the Southport Junior Classic, defying breezy conditions with a superb five-under par 68 and a big win in the overall girls’ section.

On the other hand it was a score of one-over 72 from Caleb Purdey, from Royal Queensland, that prevailed for overall boys’ honours.

Meanwhile, Emerald Lakes continue to head standings in the Gold Coast District junior pennants series after a 4-3 win against Gainsborough Greens in the second round played at Burleigh.

Emerald Lakes started the new series by beating defending champions Southport 6-1 the previous weekend.

In other games, Southport bounced back to beat Coolangatta Tweed 4½-2½ and Burleigh beat Surfers Paradise 5-2.
