Tait homes in on Games
GOLD Coast’s Sara Tait has all but sealed her place at the 2018 Commonwealth Games thanks to her Paratriathlon Continental Championships.
The paratriathlete finished ahead of Newcastle’s Lauren Parker in Sunday’s event that was changed to a duathlon following the cancellation of the swim leg due to poor water quality.
Tait thrived in the 28km run, bike, run to put her hand up for selection in the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
Two discretionary nominations are up for grabs for the Games and both Tait and Parker are frontrunners to join Gold Coast-based ITU World Champion Emily Tapp in the Australian women’s team.
The Paratriathlon Continental Championships run as part of race three of the sixrace Triathlon Victoria Triathlon Series.
