ATHLETES SET FOR THE FAST LANE

The Games Route Network (GRN) will be a series of designated roads that link the Commonwealth Games Village to competition and non-competition venues and airport.

It will provide a route for athletes and officials to get to sports on time.

As well as official Games transport, the GRN will be used by shuttle buses transporting spectators and workforce to venues, usual public transport services as well as general traffic.

The GRN will be implemented in stages from March. This extended time frame will allow road users to familiarise themselves with the changes and the increasing demand on the route in the lead up to the Games.

Some sections of the GRN, close to competition venues, will feature Games Lanes which will be reserved for public transport, emergency services and GC2018 vehicles.
