Basketball star quits
ADELAIDE’S Erin Phillips has called time on her decorated basketball career after realising it would be impossible to combine it with her role for the Crows in the AFLW.
Phillips, 32, made the call after speaking to national basketball coach Sandy Brondello last week and realising she had to make a choice between playing football or devoting herself to the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games with the Opals.
“It’s time for me to close the door on my career as a basketball player,” Phillips said. “It has been the most incredible journey.”
