Herfoss’ dream gig

-

LEADING Gold Coast motorcycle racer Troy Herfoss has been granted a chance to mix it with the world’s best on home soil.

The 30-year-old was yesterday announced as a wildcard entry for the Superbike World Championship season-opener at Phillip Island next month.

Herfoss, a two-time Australian superbike champion, placed third in the national series last year and can’t wait to represent his country.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I’m just so grateful to be given the opportunity to compete at the top level,” he said.

“Competing in the world superbikes has been one of my dreams since very early in my career and to secure a ride gives me an opportunity to take my career to the next level.

“To have the chance to do it at Phillip Island is even better.”

Herfoss, who rides for Honda, made a name for himself in the road cycling scene with a standout performance at the recent national championships. “I love riding bikes whether it’s with an engine beneath me or on a bicycle,” he said.
