Live acts to feature at music awards on beach
DRUMROLL please ... nominations have opened for the fourth annual Gold Coast Music Awards (GCMA).
The 2018 awards will be handed out on May 3 at a redcarpet concert event on Sur- fers Paradise beach featuring live performances by Bobby Alu, Hussy Hicks, Electrik Lemonade, and Eliza and the Delusionals.
The awards night heralds the opening of the annual Surfers Paradise LIVE festival, a feast of free music in the streets and venues
May 4-6.
This year’s LIVE festival line-up will see headliners Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens and Kate Ceberano joined by local artists including Black Rabbit George, Benny D Williams, Mistram, Lane Harry x of Surfers from Ike Campbell
Hicks.
The GCMAs will be held on the beach in Surfers until 2021 as part of a five-year partnership with Surfers Paradise Alliance.
GCMA director Samantha Morris said the awards enjoyed and Hussy a successful move to Surfers Paradise last year with a sold-out VIP event and free live show by ARIA-winner Amy Shark and Hanlon Brothers for more than 3000 people.
Nominations close on March 2, with finalists to be announced on March 29.
