Jess ‘back with family’

Actor loses fight for life

DEVASTATED cast and crew of Home and Away yesterday spoke of actor Jessica Falkholt’s contagious smile as she lost her fight for life.

Jessica died at Sydney’s St George Hospital six days after her life support was turned off following the head-on crash that claimed the lives of her sister Annabelle, 21, and their parents Lars, 69, and Vivian, 60.

The 29-year-old had been in intensive care since the horrific Boxing Day accident as the family returned home to Sydney after spending Christmas at Ulladulla.

Family and friends said they gained some comfort that she was “back with her family”.

Best known for her role as Hope Morrison in Home and Away, Jessica was remembered as being on the brink of a stellar career, having just finished shooting new Australian supernatural thriller Harmony, in which she had the title role.

“It is just heartbreaking.” one of her agents, Lisa Mann, said.

“Beautiful Jess was loved and treasured by her family, friends and colleagues and our sympathies are with everyone today.”

Ms Mann said Jessica, who graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2010 and the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2015, was highly respected for her work and the degree of thought and preparation she invested in every job.

Fellow Home and Away actor Pia Miller posted “farewell wonderful Jess” on her Instagram page.

Co-star James social media fan Stewart’s page has farewelled the former star of the Australian drama.

“R. I. P Jessica Falkholt. Such a beautiful and talented soul – taken so soon & so tragically. May you now rest in peace alongside Annabelle, Lars and Vivian. Sending my deepest sympathy to the extended Falkholt family & friends,” he wrote.

Aussie actor Shannon Deguara said she was “always a pleasure to know and work with, such a great talent lost”.

“You will be missed by many with your bubbly personality and contagious smile,” he wrote on Facebook.

Harmony is due out this year, with production company Cowlick Entertainment Group saying they wanted the world to see her talent.

“She’s an incredible actor who connects with audiences and is an absolute star,” a spokeswoman said.
