Powerful SSE swell will continue to rock the Coast today at a still large 5 to 8ft plus across northern NSW breaks, while wrapping at 3 to 5ft across exposed Queensland breaks and still a good 2 to 4ft or so inside the points and bays. Easing SSE groundswel­l hangs in at about 4 to 5ft south of the border tomorrow while ranging anywhere from 2 to 4ft across southern Queensland. Expect moderate SSW to SSE winds to persist throughout the outlook period, with best conditions on offer early under lighter inshore winds.

TODAY

Easing SSE swell. Ranging from 5 to 8ft northern NSW south facing beaches, easing to 5 to 6ft+ during the afternoon. Wrapping at 3 to 5ft+ across southern Queensland with size depending on exposure. WIND: SSW 10 to 20 knots early tending SSE to SE to 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.

TOMORROW

Easing SSE swell. Sets up to 4 to 5ft+ northern NSW south facing beaches early, easing to 3 to 4ft+ during the afternoon. Wrapping at 2 to 4ft across southern Queensland with size depending on exposure WIND: Light WSW to SSW 5 to 15 knots, tending SSE to SE during the afternoon.

SATURDAY

Leftover SSE swell around 2 to 4ft northern NSW south facing beaches, easing during the afternoon. Wrapping at 1 to 3ft across southern Queensland with size depending on exposure WIND: Early lighter SW to SSW inshore, tending SSE to SE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.

SUNDAY

Smaller levels of left over SE swell ranging from 1 to 3ft northern NSW south facing beaches, easing. Wrapping at about 2ft across exposed southern Queensland breaks, grading smaller inside the points and bays with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early lighter SW to SSW tending SE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon and ESE to NE (northern NSW) later.

MONDAY

Residual SE swell. Sets ranging from 1 to 2ft exposed breaks, grading to lower levels inside the points and bays WIND: Early light and variable tending NNE/ NE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.
