Koreas join for sports
NORTH and South Korea have agreed to enter a joint team at next month’s Winter Olympics.
But analysts question whether detente with the isolated, nuclear-armed North will be sustainable once the show in Pyeongchang is over.
Their athletes will march together under one flag at the opening ceremony and they will field a joint women’s ice hockey team at the Pyeongchang Games in South Korea.
Lausanne University professor Patrick Clastres said: “There are no examples of sport creating peace.”
