Winx takes on Redzel

CHAMPION Winx will meet Australia’s best sprinter Redzel in a barrier trial at Rosehill as the pair embark on their next campaigns.

Monday’s 900m heat on the course proper also features Group 1 winners Ace High and Trapeze Artist.

Winx ended the spring with her 22nd straight win in her record-equalling third Cox Plate while Redzel added the $10 million Everest and Group 1 Darley Classic to his Doomben 10,000 victory in the winter.

Redzel’s program is scheduled to begin in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington on February 17 with the Group 2 Apollo Stakes at Randwick a possible starting point for Winx the same day.
