STAR OF THE WEEK

Chris Swan. At the age of 39 the former Queensland Shield fast bowler continues to produce for Surfers Paradise. Against Alberton he opened and scored 80 (seven fours), then took 4-36 from 7.4 overs. He added two catches.

VILLAIN OF THE WEEK

The new wicket at Merrimac Oval, which Broadbeach Robina call Voice Print Data Oval. It continues to heavily favour the bowlers as it settles in.

STAT OF THE WEEK

A collective six wickets for only 14 runs between Broadbeach pair Reece McDonald (3-4) and spinner Ky Newitt (3-9) from eight overs each. Combined figures were 16-10-14-6.

TALKING POINT

The Helensvale Pacific Pines lower graders. Last week it was David Houghton, a 43-year-old with his amazing 218 from 105 balls in sixth grade. This time it was Jeremy Gale with 196 from 100 balls in fifth grade. The Hawks are soaring.
