Robbie’s happy return
MARGOT Robbie was in the pink last night as the excited Gold Coast star made a triumphant return to Australia.
Just 24 hours after treading the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles, she walked down the pink carpet in Sydney for the Australian premiere of the acclaimed I, Tonya.
“I’m so happy,” Robbie, wearing a dress by Aussie designer Michael Lo Sordo, said. “I’m nervous for my friends and family to see it, but excited. I think they’ll like it, I hope they will.
“I know mum will be sweet about it no matter what, because my mum’s just a sweetheart. I’m curious to see what all of Australia thinks of it.”
The Gold Coast girl said she was hoping to spend as much time as possible with her friends and family while she was home.
“Even if we’re just sitting around chatting, that’s exciting for me.”
She has been lauded for her performance in the movie, in which she plays infamous ice skater Tonya Harding, and is tipped to secure an Oscar nomination when they are announced today.
