No police misconduct
POLICE say an internal investigation into the release of a confidential intelligence brief to members of the Gold Coast Pistol Club has found no evidence of misconduct.
Police launched an investigation into how a confidential BOLO (Be on the Lookout) alert was shared with more than 1400 members of the club on November 25 in an email sent under pistol club president and serving police officer Steve Flori’s name. Insp Flori denied sending the email, saying Queensland Police contacted the club manager.
The release of sensitive information without authority is a breach of the QPS code.
In a statement issued on February 1, a police spokesman said the internal investigation failed to find any police misconduct or corrupt conduct.
