Just a tough cookie at sea

A MAN has survived after drifting on the Atlantic Ocean for 16 days.

Samuel Moss Jr, 23, from the Bahamas, has spoken with reporters at St Mary’s Medical Centre in West Palm Beach, Florida. He set sail from Bimini to Nassau on January 13 in a new 21-foot angler.

Moss ran out of fuel and drifted alone until another yachtsman spotted him off the coast of West Palm Beach.

Moss said he survived on chips, cookies and bottled water for 12 days, until a 12m wave hit his boat and wiped out his meagre supplies.
