Women to put hands up
ANOTHER Sims sibling is set to make their mark on the world of rugby league, after the younger sister of Ruan and Ashton was called into an NRL women’s training camp.
Canecia “CJ” Sims is one of several new faces to be given the chance to push for a top 40 contract, when 52 players converge on the Gold Coast this weekend.
The camp will be a key part of what is set to be a groundbreaking year for the female game, with Jillaroos stars to mix with Australian-based Kiwi and PNG players, as well as promising new talent.
Jillaroos coach Brad Donald will use the camp to see who will make up the final squad of 40 contracted players for the season ahead.
The NRL announced last year a first national league.
