Snake bite kills woman

A HEAVILY pregnant woman and her unborn baby have died after a suspected snake bite in Western Australia.

Sinita Martin, known as Nita, managed to call out to relatives for help on Monday evening but then began having fits at her home in Meekatharra, 740km northwest of Perth.

The 27-year-old, who was 31 weeks pregnant, was rushed to Meekatharra Hospital but despite the desperate efforts of doctors, neither she nor her unborn baby survived.
