STUDENTS PUT THEIR SKILLS TO GOOD USE

-

A GROUP of 130 Griffith University students have arrived for duty at GOLDOC ready to play their part at GC2018.

The students, part of an internship program developed by the university and GOLDOC, are immersed in key planning and operational activities for the Games.

Business student Harry Rodgers will work as a Spectator Services Deployment Supervisor intern, involved in the training and deployment of volunteers.

“Griffith offered this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work at the Games and, as sport is my passion, I didn’t want to miss this chance to use what I’ve learned in the classroom in a real practical work environment,” he said.

Urban and Environmental Planning student Emma Davis joined the Sustainability and Legacy team for the 12-week internship.

“I’ve grown up with a passion for sustainability knowing the importance it has in everyday life,” she said.
