Malceski to develop young Suns
NICK Malceski says he is excited to help Gold Coast’s youngest players transition in to the AFL as the Suns new NEAFL coach.
The Suns have confirmed Malceski as Steve Daniel’s replacement following the latter’s decision to leave the club to join Southport Sharks at the end of 2017.
Malceski became an assistant at Gold Coast after retiring last year and said he was looking forward to helping develop the club’s younger stocks further.
“Obviously we’ve got a big group of young guys at the club,” Malceski said.
“I think with our first to third-year players, we’ve got about 20 of them at the moment.
“(I’ll) try to give them a bit of my experience … and get them up to speed so when they do get their opportunity at AFL level we’ve had a part in that and watched them grow.”
