CARTWRIGHT FALLOUT HURTS

-

OF all the things written about Bryce Cartwright (above) leaving Penrith for the Titans, the most important for both NRL clubs was from a parent on the Panthers’ forum fan page. “In the last five-six years my children’s favourite player has gone from Gordon to Lewis, Lewis to Jennings, Jennings to Soward, Soward to Segeyaro, Segeyaro to Moylan and now Moylan to Cleary.

“How are kids supposed to build a trusting relationship with the club ... build a lifetime bond with a club if they don’t have heroes in the club? For the first time in years I haven’t bought a membership, I don’t feel wasting .. $600 on organisation that I have no faith.”

This rant by a parent should be read by all sports marketing departments including the Suns, because if your child cannot relate to your players the game is lost before kick-off.
