Honey Toast looking good

COMEBACK galloper Honey Toast has surprised even his trainer Ben Currie in the runup to his return at Doomben.

Honey Toast, the winner of nine races of his 24 starts, is topweight in tomorrow’s Open Handicap (1350m), which will be his first start in 20 months.

“He had had tendon issues and the only way to overcome them is to have a long rest,” Currie said.

“Honey Toast has had a couple of jumpouts and is ready to go … I reckon he is going as well as ever.”
